The second year of Cabbage’s Resilience Programme will culminate in a month long takeover of French Street Gallery, with pop up events and exhibitions each weekend in September. This year, the programme is supporting six artists and one curator with a funded period of research and development, with additional technical and critical support from an artist led team.
The Associate Artists and the dates they will be sharing work they’ve developed as part of the programme are below. Click each artist for more information:
2nd – 4th September
9th – 10th September
16th – 18th September
23rd – 25th September
Previous Associate Artists Liv Fontaine & Nina Mdwaba AKA Boldie are Critical Friends to the programme and artist James Jimbo will be providing technical support. Event-maker Jenny Tipton will be supporting artists throughout the project. More information on each of the artist’s exhibitions and events will be released soon!
Cabbage’s Resilience Programme was established in 2020, in response to Covid-19’s impact on freelance creative practice. The programme supports a cohort of artists and curators over a 6 month period, each with tailored professional development opportunities and outcomes that are self directed by the artists. Cabbage prioritises slow conversation & creation, and it is the programme’s aim to give each participant the chance to pause and reflect on their practice, without the pressure of delivery or outcome.
With thanks to Strangefield and Creative Scotland for their support.
